About West Houston Indoor Soccer

West Houston Indoor Soccer (WHIS) opened it's doors in August 2001.  The facility is a 30,000 sq ft metal building housing 1 indoor soccer field (180 ft long by 80 ft wide) and 2 basketball/volleyball courts.  The soccer turf was recently replaced (October 2009) and the wood basketball floors were refinished at the same time.  The basketball backboards and volleyball systems are very high quality (NBA practice quality backboards) and college level volleyball nets.

Soccer

WHIS arranges and run adult and youth leagues.  The adult leages play in the evenings during the week and play all year-round.  The youth leagues play on the weekends (Saturdays & Sundays) and play in the Summer (Mid-June - Mid August and Mid-December - Mid-February). We play 6 on 6 (goalie and 5 field players) for both the adult and youth games.  The referee is provided as part of the team fee.

Volleyball

Girls Club Volleyball organizations train and play on the 2 main courts and 2 auxiliary courts here at WHIS.  Club Kaboom is the designated Girls Club Organization for the facility.

Adult volleyball players can join in the open play time on Saturday nights (8 - 11 pm) for a nominal fee of $5.

Basketball

WHIS runs a men's basketball league on Sunday evenings.  Teams can sign up and play in this league.

The Filipino Sports Assoc regularly runs a basketball league on Sunday mornings.

A number of AAU teams practice and hold tournaments during the week and on Saturdays.
